Teaching Your Children To Be Conquerors by Cheryl Lacey Donovan

Teaching Your Children To Be Conquerors

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Life is sure to bring twists and turns. But its the way we respond to these obstacles that will determine our ultimate outcome.

As parents we must teach our children through our actions that no matter how bad the situation may be they can always count on God for protection, guidance, and security. His love never fails and His mercy is everlasting.

In the end God is always on our side and we must demonstrate this to our children by reacting to unpleasant circumstances in a way that is honoring to God. We must respond with the knowledge that we are more than conquerors through Him and that ulimately the victory is ours.

Ms. Donovan just provided all parents of any race, culture, creed or any other difference you can think of, as simple way to provide your child with a tool to be successful in life: By being an example.

Many times we get to caught up "living our life" that we don't tap into a way to go through the changes we will inevitably encounter in a way that is beneficial to both us as adults and our children. This is definitely something a parent can do no matter how old their children are (*wink, wink*).

By modeling the behavior we would like for our kids to exhibit when they are out on their own, we give them immeasurable strength to face adversity and challenges.

Plus we can do this each and every time. Can you remember situations where you simply overreacted to what ended up being a victory?

Joey thank you for your comment. And you are right. Leading by example is an important parenting skill we all must learn.
