MoorePatience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties
disappear and obstacles vanish. ~ John Quincy Adams<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />We have sinned, even as our
fathers did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly. When our fathers were in
Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many
kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea. Yet he saved them for his
name's sake, to make his mighty power known. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Psalm 106:6-8 (New International
Version)</span><br /><br />When I was a child, I believed in miracles. I believed
that anything could happen and it usually did. I saw them all the time. I
experienced the perfect day, the joy and laughter of playing with family and
friends. I knew the comfort and love that comes from being around those who
cared and about and for me. Now, I often wonder; what happened? When did I stop
believing that dreams really do come true?<br /><br />I now realize that they went
away when I grew up. My vision became tainted by all the bad things I saw and as
the trust I had in those around me become battered and broken. Even today, it
amazes me how innocent the world through the eyes of a child can be. The stages
of life have a way of tarnishing our vision.<br /><br />I can only imagine how
painful it must have been for our forbearers, Adam and Eve to realize that
because of deceit and curiosity, they too had lost that childlike innocence. I’m
not sure if they too gave up on believing in miracles as the world around them
became tainted by the things they now saw and had to endure.<br /><br />It wasn’t
until I grew older and developed a relationship with Christ Jesus that I began
to realize that even though the world around me had changed, there was still
hope. Hope in Christ Jesus. Now the only difference was that instead of miracles
happening around me every day, I had to learn to be patient and to persevere in
my well doing.<br /><br />The Lord, our Father has told us time and time again, that
this is not his world. Satan has made sure of that. However, for those of us who
still believe in the power of faith, miracles can and will still happen. If you
can believe it, you can receive it. Your Miracle is on the way.<br /><br />Be
Blessed<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;"><br />Prayer:</span><br />Father God, we
come before the mercy seat asking today for our miracles and breakthroughs. So
often we lose sight of the fact that our hope and desires do not lay in the
hands of those around us, but rather our hope lies in Christ Jesus. Help us Lord
to see You through the eyes of a child. A child who is totally dependant on
their Father to provide all things. Father God, we come seeking Your face and
depending on You for those miracles that are needed in our lives. Some have lost
faith because they were depending on the wrong things. Material things that man
provides and not those Godly things that You have already promised us in Your
word. Help me Lord, to always look toward the hills of heaven from which cometh
my help. It is on Christ the solid rock I stand. It is on Your word that I
stand. It is by faith I will walk and it by grace I will be blessed. Thank You
Father, for all things. But I thank You most of all for redemption through Your
Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in His name I pray. <span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">I think God leaves me alone to let me find my own
strength because no one else can give it to me. Sometimes it is very lonely.
But I know the lonely times teach me the most. I must let go in order to let
anything in.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">This
past year has been a year full of changes and reflection for me.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I had a life altering surgery in December of
2011 and with that surgery came a new set of rules and regulations.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I remained isolated during my recovery and
even after my healing, I chose to remain isolated.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>In the beginning, I didn’t know or understand
why I chose this path but it would soon become evident.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">I
would soon learn that in order to make certain changes in my life, I had to
remove myself from certain situations in order not to fall victim to past
habits.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I would also learn to be still
and listen more intently for the word of God.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>You see, when we are in constant motion, we may not be able to hear <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">Whatever
it is he wants to say to us.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I would
also learn to become more observant.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I would
learn to be still, watch and observe and be still.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is not necessary to voice every thought
you think.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">But
one of the most important lessons I would learn is to listen to the still small
voice inside of me that would help me to see things as they really are and not
as I wished for them to be.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There were
things in my life I had been holding onto that were not healthy for me or my
well-being and it was those things, people and situations I would have to learn
to let go.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I would learn that it takes
more strength to let certain things go than to hold on to them.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">Saints
of God, sometimes we must learn and understand that wanting something or
someone to bear fruit in our lives is not going to happen no matter how much we
want it to be so.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We plant those things
in our lives we hope will become a blessing but soon realize that no matter how
much time, energy, or resources we invest in the crop, there will be no
harvest.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12pt;">We
must learn that in order for good things to come to us, we must let go of the
bad.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

MooreRemember, try to avoid looking forward or backward, and try to keep looking
upward. ~ Charlotte Bronte<br /><br /><strong>Scripture:</strong>For we walk by
faith, not by sight. <strong>2 Corinthians 5:7</strong><br /><br />Saints, how many
of you wear glasses or contacts? I do. If you are anything like me, I have from
time to time lost or broken my glasses. When this happens, I have a hard time
seeing things clearly.<br /><br />Today I want to talk to you about putting on your
spiritual glasses. You see, sometimes when we look at life we see things as they
appear to be. We may see insurmountable mountains. We may see unconquerable
circumstances. We may not see a way out of bondage.<br /><br />Putting on your
spiritual glasses is a way of looking at things through the eyes of Jesus. It is
a way of allowing God to take over and make a way out of no way. It is a way of
seeing things more clearly. Seeing things not in the natural, but in the
super-natural.<br /><br />Putting on your spiritual glasses allows you to let go and
let God lead the way. Putting on your spiritual glasses blinds you to the things
of this world and it opens up a whole new view for you to see. God’s way. God’s
world. Gods plan for you.<br /><br />Saints, today pick up those glasses, put them
on and learn a whole new way of looking at things. Trust in the Lord and know
that he will lead you down the right path.<br /><br />Be
Blessed<br /><br /><strong>Prayer:</strong><br />Lord, I once was blind but now I see.
We come today as the blind did in the days of old, asking Lord, that You would
restore our sight. Help us Lord to find the path that You have chosen for us.
Help us Lord, to develop greater faith. Help us Lord, to see the world through
the eyes of Jesus. Father, we come surrendering our lives to You. Help us to
learn to lean on You. Help us Lord to learn that it’s not always, about what we
see but truly, about what You are teaching us. Teach us Lord to lean upon You
and to depend upon You and not the things of this world. Father, we ask that You
would keep all of Your saints safe and secure this day. Continue to be with our
troops during the time of tribulation. Bless us Lord. Keep us Lord. Restore our
sight once again. So that we may lift our eyes towards heaven and see Your
divine vision for us. Father, we come praising and uplifting Your name once
again. As we ask and pray this and all things in the name of Jesus. MooreLife's not about fitting in; it's about standing out.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />If the world hates you, keep in
mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as
its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of
the world. That is why the world hates you. <span style="font-weight: bold;">John
15:18-19 (New International Version)</span><br /><br />Going along through life, I
often find myself caught in places and/or situations where I just didn’t fit in.
Sometimes it was the job I held or the friends I had made. Maybe it was the
places I visited or the relationship I was in. Or maybe even the church I
attended. <br /><br />Eventually, I found that for whatever reason I no longer fit
and found myself caught in the position of being uncomfortable. I often found it
would become necessary for my well-being and comfort to move from a place of
discomfort and find a better fitting position. This analogy holds true for our
Christian walk.<br /><br />We will become too big (symbolically speaking) and can
longer move about as a result of developing an unhealthy lifestyle. Or maybe, we
are starving to death, withering away from a lack of nourishment In either case,
you no longer fit and for the betterment of your spiritual health, it will
become necessary for you to move from this place of discomfort.<br /><br />The word
of God tells us to crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in
our salvation. It tells us of the bread of God; For the bread of God is he who
comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." <br /><br />The word of God
tells us whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the
water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal
life."<br /><br />Now that’s the kind of meal that I want!<br /><br />Be
Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Therefore they
are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He
who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore
nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb
who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living
fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Lord,
we come before the throne of Grace this day hungering and thirsting after Your
word. Let us feast this day on the bread of life and drink from the fountain
that never runs dry. Thank You Father for providing all of my needs. Lord, that
You for blessing me even when I am ungrateful. Thank You for keeping me, my
family, friends and loved ones safe from all hurt, harm and danger. But most of
all; thank You for Your son, Jesus Christ in whose name we pray. MooreDo not allow a chance to the enemy. Continue to fight until final victory ~
Luigi Longo<br />
<br />
<strong>Scripture:</strong><br />
I have fought the good fight, I have finished
the race, I have kept the faith. <strong>2 Timothy 4:7 (New International
Version)</strong><br />
<br />
A few years ago, I had a conversation with a friend who commented
on the fact that he had not heard about the man who survived under a collapsed
building in Haiti for twenty-eight days. We both marveled at this man’s resolve
to stay alive. With nothing to eat or drink, trapped in darkness; day after day,
I wonder what his thoughts may have been. You see, it takes a strong will and
strong faith to live in total darkness with nothing to hold on to.<br />
<br />
I’m
almost sure that his mind and the enemy were playing tricks on him. Imagine
nothing around you but death and debris. Nothing to hold onto but your faith;
would you have been able to make it? Could you live on nothing to nourish your
body but your faith?<br />
<br />
In conjunction with his story, I also heard the
story of the Georgian Bobsledder who was killed at the winter Olympics. What I
found interesting about his story was that he went to the Olympics with no
illusions on winning; he just wanted to follow his dream and live his country’s
credo of “Fight Well.” Now both of these stories had very different outcomes,
but I believe they convey the same message.<br />
<br />
There will be times in our
lives when we just want to give up. We don’t really believe that we can win this
fight called life. There are days when there is nothing but darkness and despair
all around us and there is no hope of us winning. What we learn from both of
these situations is this; Fight well; help may be on the way. No, you may not
have any illusions of winning but it has been ingrained in you to never give up
and to fight the good fight of faith. <br />
<br />
My heart aches for both of these
men but I am full because of the joy that can also be found in their stories.
Neither man gave up and both may have believed that they couldn’t win. However,
what they both knew is that there is a power that is greater than us all; it is
called the “Power of Faith!”<br />
<br />
All faith asks us to do is “Fight
Well.”<br />
<br />
Be Blessed<br />
<br />
<strong>Prayer:</strong><br />
Our Father which art in Heaven,
though the world seems dark and desolate, I fear not because I know You are with
me always. When the enemy seeks to destroy me, I will stand on my Faith. A faith
that has been bought with a price, the precious blood of the Lamb. Father, I
know that sometimes I become saddened by my situation and I fear that I cannot
win. I forget that as long as you walk through the Valley of Darkness with me, I
am never alone. Your rod and Your staff comfort me and give me the strength to
walk on though I often know not where the road may lead. There is so much
darkness and despair around us that sometimes we forget to look for the Light.
Help us always to remember that when darkness falls, You can and will light our
way if we just ask. Father God help us always to remember to guard our minds by
putting on the helmet of salvation. The helmet that will protect our thoughts
and our minds so that we can stay focused on You and the Word. Thank You Father,
for the Word which is the same, today, yesterday and forever more. Thank You
Lord for the Light of the world, Your Son Jesus Christ. It is in His name that
we submit this prayer. MooreRemember, Sometimes He allows us to suffer the worst of it So that when the best
shows up There's no mistaking it. ~ John
Christopher<br /><br /><strong>Scripture:</strong>This is what the LORD says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you
what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. <strong>Isaiah
48:17 (New International Version)</strong><br />I often talk about making
choices. I learned a long time ago that for every choice that we make, there are
consequences. The consequences can be either good or bad. Too often when we make
a choice based on our own selfish desires, the consequences are rarely ever
good.<br /><br />As the mother of two sons, I would like to believe that I have
taught my sons the things they need to know in order to make the right choices.
However, I also realize in spite of everything I have attempted to teach them,
that they will make some wrong choices. They sometimes still choose to do things
their way, no matter what.<br /><br />Not long ago, my youngest son lost one of his
privileges because of a bad choice that he made. He chose not to do his math
homework, which resulted in him getting a bad grade. As his mother, it was up to
me to show him that his choice was the wrong one. The same thing often happens
to us in our adult lives as well. We choose to do something that we know is
wrong, and as a result, we too must live with the consequences.<br /><br />The word
of God is life’s teaching tool that equips us so that we can make the right
choices. However, it is still left up to us to actually do the right thing. As a
parent, I try to direct my children to do what is best for them. Just as the
word of God teaches us what is best for us.<br /><br />Won’t you make the right
choice today?<br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><strong>Prayer:</strong><br />Lord,
Sometimes we act as little children, refusing to grow up in our faith and
pouting over things that we cannot understand. Lord, I want to grow in grace and
grow in faith. Lord, I am sorry for not being a more mature Christian. I am
sorry for not acknowledging how much You do for me. Lord, I just want to thank
You. Because just like we forgive our children and get over their temper
tantrums, You forgive me and overlook my faults. Thank Lord. Father, I ask that
You continue to touch my brothers and sisters in Christ. Grant them the desires
of their hearts. Bless them as only You can. Thank You Father, Bless You Father.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. would come to pass for the body of Christ.<br /><br />The author cited several
scriptures that indicated that the year 2013 was a year of completion and
blessings for those who have been faithful to the word of God. Now, I am not
here to dispute the message that was given, but rather, I was reminded that each
and every day can be a day of the “OPEN DOOR.”<br /><br />So often we forget that
even in the midst of our trials and tribulations, God can and will open a door.
So often we fail to realize that even in the midst of our unbelief, he continues
to bless, in spite of us. Too often we spend so much time standing in front of a
closed door that we fail to see the new door He has created for us, the Open
Door, waiting there for us to walk through.<br /><br />Saints of God, yes 2013 is
the year of the open door. That door has already been opened for us by our Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ. All we have to do is walk through it.<br /><br />Be
Blessed<br /><br />May your journey in this year be blessed, and may the Lord, Your
God, visit you and lead you upon the path that He has designed for you. Follow
the path of life, and you will fulfill your God-given destiny.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Therefore I say unto You, What
things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall
have them.” Lord, we come before You this day believing that You are the one and
only true God. Lord, we thank You for remaining faithful to us. Father we give
thanks to You alone for loving us and watching over us. Father, as we begin this
year anew, help us always to put You first in all we do and say. Teach us Lord,
how to remain faithful in spite of our circumstances. Help us Lord to remain
prayerful and diligent in our service to You. Thank You Lord, for blessing us.
Thank You Lord, for new grace and mercy. Thank You Lord, for the Blood. The
Blood that washes away my sins. The blood that protects, heals, and sanctifies.
Thank You Lord, for loving a sinner like me. May the prayers of my brothers and
sisters be heard by You alone. May You touch the hearts and minds of all we have
come before the throne of grace today. May we always give thanks to You first.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Moore It's not so much that we're afraid of change or so in love with the old ways,
but it's that place in between that we fear . . . . It's like being between
trapezes. It's Linus when his blanket is in the dryer. There's nothing to hold
on to. ~ Marilyn Ferguson<br /><br /><strong>Scripture:</strong><br />The LORD himself
goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. <strong>Deuteronomy 31:8 (New
International Version)</strong><br /><br />First of all, let me publicly acknowledge
that today’s title and message were inspired by Pastor Larry Smith of New ST.
Mark Baptist church. As I sat listening to the man of God, I was taught what it
means to be in between blessings. In between blessings are periods of time when
one thing has ended and you are waiting on something else to begin where
difficulties may occur. <br /><br />The ending might be a job, a marriage, a
relationship or simply a season in your life. What Pastor Smith pointed out was
that while we are in between, we must hold on to our hope and our faith. He
cited several examples in the bible where different people held out hope and
held fast to their faith while they waited for their breakthrough or miracle.
<br /><br />Sarah in the book of Genesis who thought she was too old to bear
children; the woman in the book of Mark who had the issue of blood. And what
about the lame man who was at the pool of Bethesda for 38 years who never gave
up hope that one day, if he could just make it into the pool, he too would be
healed. The list goes on and on. These are but a few examples of what it means
to hold on to hope and to hold on to your faith.<br /><br />The quote that I used to
day is actually an oxymoron in relationship to today’s message. The line that
states being in between is like being between trapezes, there is nothing to hold
on to. Personally, I beg to differ. Today’s scripture states that no matter
where we travel, what we are going through or where we are, God is right there
in the midst with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. <br /><br />In other
words, things may look bad now, but hold on to your faith. Romans 15:13 tells
us; “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so
that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 11:1
reiterates; “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen.”<br /><br />And most of all remember, On Christ the solid Rock I
stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Hold on to His unchanging
hand.<br /><br />Be blessed<br /><br /><strong>Prayer:</strong><br />I will lift up my
eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who
made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you
will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel. Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun
shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve you
from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going
out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. Lord, we come
before the throne of grace thanking You for our miracles. Father we come into
covenant agreement and standing in the gap for our brothers and sisters who may
be weak. Touch them Lord Jesus. Magnifying Your power and Your presence in their
lives. Father, our city and our world is full of stress and strife. Allow Your
power and Your spirit to rain down on us this day. Father many of our brothers
and sisters may be faced with losing jobs. Have mercy Lord. Lord, and as we have
to go through our valleys, to GET to the other side, be by our sides. Keeping us
in perfect peace. Lord, use us and allow us to bless someone else this day. We
love You Lord. We praise and uplift Your name. We give You all honor, all
praise, and all the glory to You alone. Hallelujah, anyhow. Hallelujah in spite
of. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Praise God, Amen.PeaceInTheStormhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17035386489743347999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022720331313239321.post-27010017899109103042013-01-20T08:53:00.002-08:002013-01-20T08:53:36.780-08:00Passing Through Darkness by Jacqueline D. MooreThat which causes us trials shall yield us triumph: and that which make our
hearts ache shall fill us with gladness. The only true happiness is to learn, to
advance, and to improve: which could not happen unless we had commence with
error, ignorance, and imperfection. We must pass through the darkness, to reach
the light.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />But you
are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special
possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of
darkness into his wonderful light. <span style="font-weight: bold;">1 Peter 2:9
(New International Version</span>)<br /><br />Darkness is described as a condition
that is void of light. When darkness is all around you, it is hard to see where
you came from and even harder to see in what direction you may be headed. Have
you ever been out at night and there was no light anywhere around you; or, in a
room that was void of light? But then, you saw a ray of light and started
heading in the direction from which the light emanated? That’s how our Christian
walk is sometimes.<br /><br />We find ourselves lost in the night, surrounded by
darkness. We can’t see where we came from or where we are headed. We may even
begin to panic and start doing irrational things in our quest to find our way
home and out of the darkness that threatens to envelop us. <br /><br />We search for
a ray of light in anything, everything and everywhere. Our search may even lead
us to the wrong things. We make seek solace in all the wrong places; in sex,
drugs or alcohol. Some people get so lost in these places that they may never
find their way home. You may know or seen some of these people. I know I have.
My youngest sister got lost one day in the world of drugs and never made it
home. However, my prayer is that she found the light she so desperately needed.
Jesus; the light of the world.<br /><br />Jesus can lead you out of darkness and
into the wonderful light. <br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span> <br />Grant unto us, Almighty God, in all
time of sore distress, the comfort of the forgiveness of our sins. In time of
darkness give us blessed hope, in time of sickness of body give us quiet
courage; and when the heart is bowed down, and the soul is very heavy, and life
is a burden, and pleasure a weariness, and the sun is too bright, and life too
overwhelming, then may that Spirit, the Spirit of the Comforter, come upon us,
and after our darkness may there be the clear shining of the heavenly light;
that so, being uplifted again by Thy mercy, we may pass on through this our
mortal life with quiet courage, patient hope, and unshaken trust, hoping through
Thy loving-kindness and tender mercy to be delivered from death into the large
life of the eternal years. Continue to touch Your saints who have asked for our
prayers. Grant us everlasting mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.PeaceInTheStormhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17035386489743347999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022720331313239321.post-36894066869968785602013-01-10T16:41:00.001-08:002013-01-10T16:41:52.184-08:00Be Encouraged by Jacqueline D. When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first
place." ~ Unknown<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />The LORD is close to the
brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may
have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; he protects all his
bones, not one of them will be broken. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Psalm
34:18-20</span><br /><br />Periodically we will all be faced trials and
tribulations. From time to time it will seem as though God doesn't hear or just
won't answer our prayers. Then, there are times when we are just plain old tired
of fighting against this world.<br /><br />Recently, I was reminded of a situation
that the Prophet Elijah went through. Elijah was a prophet who did great things
in the name of God. (See 1 Kings). One day Elijah was sent out to destroy the
prophets of Baal. He killed all 450 prophets. When Jezebel heard what he had
done she vowed to have him killed as well. Elijah, a great Prophet of the Living
God, who had done great things in the name of God, just the day before, became
scared and ran away to hide.<br /><br />This Prophet, one of God's chosen, became
scared of one woman. Even though God had manifested himself in Elijah's life and
used Elijah to do many things in his name, Elijah ran. Even though Elijah knew
God for himself and had seen his power first hand, he felt helpless at the
threat of one queen Jezebel.<br /><br />I use this story because it reminded me that
even those who have been on the battlefield for the Lord and have been used by
God will become tired. I am reminded of not only Elijah, but of King David and
of Job as well. But you know what saints of God? Even in their moments of
darkness God was still there. Even when it seemed that there was little or no
hope, God was still there. Even when it seemed that they couldn't go on another
day, God was still there.<br /><br />So Saints of God, remember, God is still there!
He will never leave us nor forsake us! He hasn't failed us yet!<br /><br />Be
Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Lord, we come
to You seeking strength, guidance and a little more patience. Father, forgive us
when we feel weak in our faith. Forgive us when we seem to give up and give out.
Lord, we know that You are not a God of confusion. You have told us that You
would never leave us nor forsake us. Thank You Lord for that word. Father, hide
us under Your wings of salvation. Cover us in the blood. Keep us nearer God to
thee. Lord, we ask that You would continue to bless our brothers and sisters.
Those who are saved and those who have yet to get to know You for themselves.
Lord, we pray for financial breakthroughs today. So many need so much, have
mercy Lord. Breath on us Lord, cover us Lord, Have mercy on us Lord. We love You
Father God and we are thankful for what we do have. We praise, uplift and bless
Your holy name. As we submit our prayers and petitions in the name of Jesus
Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.</div>

Security is not the absence of danger, but the presence of God, no matter what
the danger. ~Anonymous<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth
give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters
roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Psalm 46:1-3 (New International
Version)</span><br /><br />What are you afraid of? Many of us fear the emotional or
physical pain something may cause. We may fear doing certain things because we
think we might fail. Some may be afraid to trust, or love someone because of a
past experiences. Others may be afraid to trust in their abilities and God given
talents; settling for mediocrity. Still others may fear the simple act of
interacting with people for fear of rejection. Secretly, we all fear
something.<br /><br />Life is full of unexplored options. Many of us will never
reach our full potentials because we allow fear to hold us hostage. We will
often fail to choose the road less traveled because we are horrified of the
prospect of the unexpected. Our view of the world is often tainted by our
fears.<br /><br />I live in Detroit, Michigan, a city that has often been defined as
the murder capital of the world. Many people fear venturing into the city
because of this perception. What they fail to realize is that there is danger
everywhere. Even in their nice little suburban towns. The key is always being
aware of your surroundings and acting accordingly. Because of their fears, they
are missing out on a lot of wonderful things that our great city has to offer.
The same rule applies no matter where you live. <br /><br />Understand that fear is
an instrument of the devil. He wants us to be afraid. When we express fear, in
essence we are saying we don’t trust God. The word of God tells us; Be sober, be
vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour. It doesn’t say; be scared, hide out don’t live your
life. Saint of God, trust in the Lord. Be diligent. <br /><br />Learn to feed your
faith and starve your fears.<br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Father God, there is so much in this
world to fear. There is death and destruction all around me and I have been hurt
by those that I have loved. Teach me Lord, to feed my faith and starve my fears.
Help me Lord, to develop a spirit of discernment. Help me to see the tricks and
lies of the evil one who seeks to destroy me. Father, teach me to trust in the
gifts that You have given me so that I can become all that You want me to be.
Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken
those who seek You. Thank You Lord, for protecting me even when I didn’t realize
that I was in danger. Continue to hide us Lord, under the wings of Your
Salvation. Lord, we thank You, we praise You and we uplift Your Holy Name.
Father God, we humbly submit our prayers in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Moore<div _yuid="yui_3_1_1_3_1357607752441157">
Destiny is no matter of chance. It is
a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for; it is a thing to be
achieved. ~ William Jennings Bryan<br /><br /><strong>Scripture:</strong><br />To the
discerning all of them are right; they are faultless to those who have
knowledge. Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice
gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can
compare with her. <strong>Proverbs 8:9-11</strong><br />Many people would like
to believe that they can’t control their own destinies. They believe that
destiny is something that just happens. Not so.<br /><br />Our destinies are based
upon many of the choices that we make. That is why it is so important that we
make the right choice, because they will eventually determine your
destiny.<br /><br />When it comes to making life altering choices, like whom are we
going to marry? What kind of job will I be stuck in? What kinds of friends will
I have? Too often we depend upon how we feel rather than what we know.<br /><br />As
I have grown older, I realize that many of the things that have gone wrong in my
life were because of bad choices. Too often, I acted upon how I felt about a
certain thing as apposed to what I really knew about something. The word of God
tells us that if we seek first the kingdom of God, that everything else will
come.<br /><br />Now I realize that sometimes the choices that we have had to make
seemed like the best choice at the time, or maybe we felt that we didn’t have a
choice in a particular situation, but I realize that far too often I didn’t seek
God’s council BEFORE I made my choice.<br /><br />Saints of God, when it comes to
making the right choice about any and everything, we must first stop and listen
for a word from God. If something in your spirit is telling you no, or making
you hesitate, maybe that’s not what God wants for you. If something is delaying
you in your decision, it might not be just a coincidence. <br /><br />We must all
learn to seek God first, be still and listen to what He is trying to tell
you.<br /><br />Therein lays your true Destiny!<br /><br />Be Blessed</div>
<br />
<div _yuid="yui_3_1_1_3_1357607752441160">
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Father, so often we feel that our
lives are not our own. We believe that our destiny in life is chosen by others.
Dear Lord, help us to remember that the choice is always ours. When we find
ourselves caught up in wrong situations, help us to see our way out. When others
see our failures, help us to realize our victories. Help us always to remember,
that the right to choose is ours alone. Even You, give us the right to choose.
May the choices and decisions I make in my life, be pleasing to You. May I
always remember that many of the choices that I make will impact my life
forever. Lord, I choose You. I am blessed, that You have also chosen me. I thank
You Lord for loving me enough to choose me to serve You. Glory to God.
Hallelujah. Thank You Father for the gift of life, Your Son and my Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in his name that we pray. Amen.</div>

MooreWisdom is like a beautiful stained glass window. The more light shines through
it The more brilliant the wisdom ~ John Christopher<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />For God, who said, "Let light
shine out of darkness,"[made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light
of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. <span style="font-weight: bold;">2 Corinthians 4:6 (New International
Version)</span><br /><br />Lately, I have been fascinated with the word Wisdom.
Wisdom is a derivative of the word wise. Wise means; Having the ability to
discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; sagacious: a wise leader. As I
have grown older, I realize that there have been so many things that have
happened in my life that were the result of being foolish or;
unwise.<br /><br />Unlike some of you, I haven’t always been saved and because of
that, I have made some pretty dumb decisions in my life. I won’t go into detail
but what I will say that because of being uninformed about the word of God, I
thought I could live my life any way I wanted to. In the process of “Living My
Life” I have said and done things that where harmful to me and to those I
loved.<br /><br />Recently, I shared with a friend how as a teenager, I rebelled
against my mother in my attempts to “Be Grown.” I did and said things that I
knew she wouldn’t have approved of. In the process, I changed the dynamics of
our relationship.<br /><br />Now I must say, that it took me some time to realize
the errors of my ways, but the reality of my actions were that I hurt my mother
in the process and caused her unnecessary pain and heartache. It took me years
to realize what I had done and it broke my heart when I realized the
consequences of my actions.<br /><br />My mother, who died many years ago forgave me
long before her death, but the shame of what I had done will be with me for the
rest of my life. It will be a cross that I will bear until my own dying day. Now
I know that I have asked for and received forgiveness for my actions, but it
doesn’t change the facts of what I had done.<br /><br />Saints of God, how many of
you have said or done things that you knew were wrong in the name of being your
own woman/man? How many of you made foolish choices because of your ignorance?
How many of you wish that you could somehow change your past so that your
presence and your future could be better? It’s not too late. <br /><br />The gift of
wisdom is at hand. It called the Word of God. The Bible. Won’t you accept your
gift today?<br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><strong>Prayer:</strong><br />Father God, I come before the
throne of grace as a chastised child. Lord, I ask for forgiveness of my
rebellious nature. Father, I come seeking the wisdom that can only be found in
Your word. Teach me Lord, to become more Christ-like. Help me Lord to grow in
grace and in favor. Teach me thy ways, as I seek the gift of life eternal in
Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You Lord, for all things yesterday, today and
forever more. Thank You heavenly Father for my mother who had the wisdom and the
love to see past my faults, just as You do. Praise be To God. Thank You Jesus.
It is in Your name we pray. gets more glory than our Lord and Savior. It very sad to realize that he can go
into the schools, into the courthouse and just about everywhere else, but Jesus
can't.<br /><br />It's so very sad to realize that we Christians who celebrate
Christmas buy gifts for our loved ones with nary a thought to those less
fortunate then ourselves. A few years ago, I along with several other friends
pooled our resources and went out and prepared gift baskets and bought toys for
a women’s shelter.<br /><br />Some of us also took our children along so that they
could see just how blessed we truly are. I tell this story not to glorify what
we did, but to challenge you this Christmas season. <br /><br />It is our duty and
responsibility to do something for others who are less fortunate than us. It is
our duty to give back just a portion that has been given to us. <br /><br />Besides,
we already received the best gift anyone could ever give us. Our Lord, Our
Savior, Jesus Christ.<br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Lord, help us to always be mindful
of those who are less fortunate than ourselves. We recognize that life is a
struggle, but as long as You are with us, we can make it through. You have said
in Your word that the righteous will not be forsaken or their children begging
bread. We thank You Lord that we do not have to beg for bread. But Lord we
recognize that there are children out there whose bellies and empty. We realize
that there are women out there who are too scared to leave their situations. We
realize that there are men out there who got lost along the way and don't know
what it's like to be a child in the kingdom of God. Have mercy on them today,
Lord Jesus. I pray that someone's heart would be touched as they read these
words. I pray that Your saints would go out and do a good work in Your name. I
pray that Your saints would realize just how awesome and powerful Your word is.
Thank You Lord. Bless Your name. Thank You for loving me despite the world
around me. Bless his holy name, saints of God. And all the saints submit this
prayer in the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ. Amen.</div>

MooreHave patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not
lose courage in considering you own imperfections but instantly set about
remedying them - every day begin the task anew. ~ Saint Francis de
Sales<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />On the last
and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone
is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the
Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this
he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to
that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
<span style="font-weight: bold;">John 7:37-39 (New International
Version)</span><br /><br />Depression is never easy, but it's especially hard during
the holidays. The holiday season for most people is a fun time of the year
filled with parties, celebrations, and social gatherings with family and
friends. But for many people, it is a time filled with sadness, self-reflection,
loneliness, and anxiety. And unfortunately, with our faltering economy and
massive layoffs, this year is even worse.<br /><br />We have allowed one of the
holiest times of the year to become one of the most commercialized times as
well. Christmas has become a celebration of gifts, not God. And nativity scenes
are brought under fire and in many cases removed for fear of being sued. Far too
often we look to those materialistic things of this world to fill the void in
our empty souls. We find ourselves wandering about in the desert like the
children of Israel unable to find our way home.<br /><br />However, I want you to
know, there is something that can make you feel whole again; the undeniable,
indisputable, everlasting word of God. When we begin to feel our souls being
emptied out by the world around us, all we have to do is go before the throne of
grace and drink from a fountain that never runs dry.<br /><br />"If you knew the
gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him
and he would have given you living water."<br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Lord, we come before the throne of
grace to intercede for one another. We come asking for blessings and
breakthroughs, not for ourselves but for our family members, friends,
co-workers, on-line family members and brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord, we
don't know the needs of Your children, but You do Lord. We ask that You would
lift and bind the spirits of depression, despair, loneliness, anger, resentment,
hurt, poverty and all others that are not of You. Lord, we ask that You would
bless us and deliver us as only You can. Place Your hedge of protection securely
around every person and all families that are represented here today. Allow this
season of Your son to be filled with blessings and joy that have been given with
the birth of Your son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Moore<br />
Remember, Treasure your relationships, not your possessions. ~ Anthony J.
DeAngelo<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />But store
up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and
where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your
heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good,
your whole body will be full of light. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Matthew
6:20-22</span><br /><br />Recently a friend, sent me a story about a little girl who
treasured a strand of dime store pearls. This little girl thought the pearls
were wonderful and they where her most prized possession.<br /><br />Well the story
goes on to tell how her father, knowing how much this little girl loved these
pearls, asked her if she loved him too. Of course her response was yes. But when
he asked if he could have the pearls, the little girl would response, oh no, but
you can have one of my other treasures. This went on for awhile, until one day
with tears in her eyes, the little girl gave her daddy the cheap
pearls.<br /><br />Her father who loved her very much reached into his pocket and
pulled out a real set of pearls that he been waiting to give his daughter when
she was ready to give up the cheap ones that she treasured so deeply.<br /><br />The
moral of the story is this; How often do we covet something that only looks
good? How often do we hold on to a relationship that only looks good to the
world, but we know in our hearts, that it is not all it appears to be? How often
do we say we love our heavenly Father, but are unwilling to give up those things
in our lives, that are cheap, gaudy, and superficial? How often must He ask us
do we love him enough to give up what we treasure the most to follow
him?<br /><br />How long does he have to wait to give you the purest treasure of
all? His love.<br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Father God, forgive us for loving
things more than You. Forgive us not listening to Your cries. Forgive us Lord
for not seeing our own selfishness. Father, help us to develop a discerning
spirit that would help us to recognize those things in our lives that You yearn
for us to give up. Help us to be still, be quiet, listen for Your voice that
tells us how much You love us, when the world around us tries to tell us
otherwise. Father, may we always seek You face, Your wisdom, and Your mercy. For
we are weak and need Your strength. Thank You Lord, for the new revelations we
discover in Your word each day. Continue to touch, bless, and anoint all who
come seeking Your word today. Help each of us find that path that You have
chosen for us. Order our steps Holy Spirit, so that we may always walks in right
relation with You. Keep each and every family that is represented here safe
under the wings of Your salvation. As we as these and all things in the name of
Your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.PeaceInTheStormhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17035386489743347999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022720331313239321.post-31392036613366633052012-12-09T14:58:00.003-08:002012-12-09T14:58:53.303-08:00What is Faith? by Jacqueline D. Moore<br />Faith is
the refusal to panic. ~ David Martyn Lloyd-Jones<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span><br />Now faith is the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained
a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word
of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are
visible. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Hebrews 11:1-3 (New King James
Version)</span><br /><br />So often we hear the phrase “Just have faith,” but how
many of you truly understand just what faith is? Faith is often described as;
believing and trusting in the power of the unknown. The dictionary defines faith
as the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person,
idea, or thing.<br /><br />I love to study the word of God and as I looked up the
passage in the NKJ version of the bible, it had a title that stated as part of
the lesson, by faith we understand. It raises the question, how can we
understand something that we cannot truly touch, taste or feel?<br /><br />In the
flesh we are often taught to believe only in the tangible. Our minds often will
not process information that does not make sense to us. In many ways we are too
literal for our own good. <br /><br />Now trust, that’s a whole other topic.
However, when we talk about faith, we must also talk about trust. Trust is an
emotion that I believe each of us is essentially born with. It is not until we
learn betrayal that we begin to lose our trust in others.<br /><br />Understanding
is described as the ability grasp the meaning of, or to accept as a fact or
truth or regard as plausible without utter certainty. <br /><br />Faith is the
belief and trust in and loyalty to God, the firm belief in something for which
there is no proof and/or complete trust. <br /><br />Now when I put those two
definitions together I see; I understand and grasp and accept as fact or truth
or regard as plausible without utter certainty in the trust and loyalty of God
and I firmly believe that even though there is not proof of His existence, I
totally and completely Trust Him. <br /><br />That my friends, is the basis of
faith!<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Consequently,
faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word
of Christ. Father, when trouble comes my way, help me to learn to trust and have
faith in You. Help me to remember that if I but have mustard seed faith, that I
can do all things through Christ Jesus. Lord, sometimes we forget that You are
our ever present help in the time of trouble. Thank You Lord, for being there
when we need You. Lord, when we begin to falter and start to worry about our
problems, help us to remember to be still and pray. When the problems of life
seem to overwhelm us, help us to remember You are right there with us. God help
us to realize that weeping may endure for a night, and that sometimes it is
necessary for trouble to assail us so that we can see You power and Your glory
manifested in our lives. Lord, We ask for strength today; the strength to stand
and fight the good fight of faith yet another day. Lord, grant us peace today.
Your peace that passes all understanding. Lord, fill our hearts with Your love.
Your love that is not our selfish definition, but the love of Christ Jesus, that
strengthens us. Now Lord, we come together on one accord to pray for one
another. For no matter how heavy our cross seems, we recognize that we are
blessed beyond our own imaginations. Bless our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Bless our loved ones who have not come to know You yet. But most of all, we
Bless Your holy name. In Christ Jesus, we pray. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Scripture:</span>Though the fig tree does not bud and
there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields
produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the

International Version)</span><br />
<br />
Recently I had dinner with a friend who
attended an outstanding teacher’s awards ceremony. He told us the story of one
particular teacher who motivated his students with one simple word; YET. If one
of his students approached him and said they couldn’t do something, his response
was always the same, he added the word YET. Think about the word,
yet.<br />
<br />
Yet is a simple word with a simple meaning, “Up to now.” To put in
into context; “I can’t do it, up to now; I don’t understand it, up to now; it
hasn’t happened, up to now. In other words even if you don’t get it, understand
it, hasn’t happened doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t. It simply means that you
haven’t reached that goal, had that vision or breakthrough “up to
now.!”<br />
<br />
This wonderful educator keeps his student motivated by challenging
them with the knowledge that even thought it hasn’t happened yet, their
breakthrough is still at hand. And so it is with our daily walk. If those things
that you need and desire haven’t happened doesn’t mean they won’t. It just means
it hasn’t happened YET.<br />
<br />
Each and every one of us must remember that when
we trust in something greater then ourselves; when we trust in God, that job,
financial breakthrough, marriage, children or whatever else you may be waiting
for simply means that you just don’t have it YET!<br />
<br />
Be Blessed<br />
<br />
<span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />
Lord, we lift Your name on high. I
will bless the Lord at all times and His praises shall continuously be in my
mouth. From every mountain high and every valley low, we will uplift the name of
God. We will sing songs of praise all the day long. Though He slay me, I will
have hope in Him. Even when my enemies are camped all around, yet I will give
Him the glory for my impending victory. Lord we sing songs of praise even when
we can't speak. We say Glory, glory hallelujah, praise be to God, even when the
tears begin to fall. Even as I lay on my bed of affliction, when friends and
family have turned against me, when there seems to be no hope for my situation
or circumstances I will shout from the mountain tops; HALLELUJAH, ANYHOW! PRAISE
BE TO GOD, GLORY! GLORY! GLORY! BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD! amen.<br />

MooreSelf-discipline is when your conscience tells you to do something and you don't
talk back. ~ W.K. Hope<br /><br /><strong>Scripture:</strong><br />For God did not
give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of
self-discipline. <strong>2 Timothy 1:7 (New International
Version)</strong><br /><br />Self-discipline refers to the training that one gives
one's self to accomplish a certain task or to adopt a particular pattern of
behaviour, even though one would really rather be doing something else. For
example, denying oneself of an extravagant pleasure in order to accomplish a
more demanding charitable deed. Thus, self-discipline is the assertion of
willpower over more base desires, and is usually understood to be a synonym of
'self control'.<br /><br />As a writer, I am often asked; how do you find time to
write? My standard answer is that I make time. I have disciplined myself to make
time to do what it is I need to do to accomplish my dreams. Writing is important
to me and when we realize those things in our lives that matter most to us, we
will do whatever is necessary to accomplish them.<br /><br />I have also realized
that being a Christian also takes self-discipline. It is so easy to take for
granted our relationship with God. We can always find time to do everything else
in our lives so why do we find it so hard to spend time with God?<br /><br />When
things are going well in our lives, we tend to want to put God on the back
burner. Then we things start going awry, we panic because we have neglected to
keep Him in the forefront of all that we do. When we make it a habit to do those
things in our lives that are important, we learn to listen to our conscience and
not talk back.<br /><br />When we get in the habit of having a daily talk with God,
He will become all the conscious you need.<br /><br />Be
Blessed<br /><br /><strong>Prayer: </strong><br />Father, help us to guard our minds
this and every day. When we grow weak and tired, allow a small wind, Your breath
of life, to gently caress our faces, letting us know that You are right there
with us. When we grow weary and almost faint, let the bread of life and the
living waters, Your word, revitalize us. Father, even in our storms, we must
always remember to stop and give You thanks. Even when life is assailing us, we
must stop and praise Your name. Even when it seems like we don't have the
strength to go a step further, we must muster the strength to uplift and exalt
Your most holy name. My Lord, help us always to be mindful and protect our
thoughts from the one who seeks to destroy us. Help us to remember to always
guard our hearts and minds from those things that are not of You. Father,
continue to be with those who are in the hospital, who are ill, who are
grieving, who are faced with the challenges of the world. Father God I say a
special prayer for my friends who are mothers. Strengthen them and give them
what they need to protect their greatest gifts, their children. Lord, we realize
that satan is out to destroy our families. We come standing in the gap and
standing on Your word. We claim our children in the name of Jesus. We plead the
blood of the Lamb over our babies and we refuse to give up on them. We ask and
pray these things in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ. MooreRemember, When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for
your life and strength. Give thanks for your food, and the joy of living. If you
see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself. ~ Tecumseh,
Shawnee Chief<br /><br /><strong>Scripture:</strong><br />ascribe to the LORD the
glory due his name. Bring an offering and come before him; worship the LORD in
the splendor of his holiness. <strong>1 Chronicles 16:29</strong><br />
<br />Too often
it becomes easier for us to see only the bad things that are going on in our
lives. We get up each morning and put on the same garments of despair, hurt,
anger and resentment that we had on the day before. Instead of seeing the
dawning of a new day as another opportunity to begin again, we see only our
problems of yesterday.<br /><br />We would rather dwell on the problems of our past,
then rejoice in the blessings of the day. It rarely occurs to us that maybe our
inability to rejoice in the blessings that we have already been given, as being
a part of the reason we don’t receive our blessings of today.<br /><br />As a
mother, I often compare my relationship to God to my relationship with my
children. You see, its hard for me to give them something new, when I feel they
don’t appreciate what they already have. I cannot in good conscious give them a
new thing if they don’t take care of the old.<br /><br />So I have to ask, how can
God in good conscious bless us with a new thing, when we can’t appreciate what
we already have. As I read the above quote, there was one statement that really
stood out to me; If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with
yourself.<br /><br />Don’t you have something to be thankful for?<br /><br />Be
Blessed<br /><br /><strong>Prayer:</strong><br />Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why
so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my
Savior and my God. Lord, we come once again praising and uplifting the name of
Jesus. We lift up Holy hands and bow down before the throne of grace in
reverence and honor to You Lord. Father, no matter what this day may bring, I
will continue to praise You. Lord, this joy that I have deep down in my soul,
the world didn't give it to me. You did. I will not allow anyone to take back
what You have given me. Thank You Father, for my gifts. I thank You for waking
me up and breathing life into my lungs once again. I thank You for family,
friends and loved ones who encourage when the world tells me I can't. I thank
You for guiding and directing me especially during those times I seem to stray.
Lord, continue to place Your hedge of protection around the saints who are
represented here. Strengthen all of my brothers and sisters in Christ who are
going through. Manifest and magnify Your Power and Your presence in our lives
today. Thank You Lord, Thank You Jesus. even have to be asked. So is it with God’s grace and mercy.<br /><br />God is that
friend who is always there to supply all of our needs and so often we forget to
say; thank you!<br /><br />Be Blessed<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Prayer:</span><br />Praise be to the God and Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every
spiritual blessing in Christ. Lord, we come before the throne of grace to thank
You Lord. You blessed me once again, and I forgot to thank You. You blessed me
with my home, my children, and so much more, and I forgot to thank You. You
delivered me from the evil one and I didn't thank You. Forgive me Lord, for
forgetting to let You know how much I appreciate everything You do for me. You
know Lord, last week I asked for something that You gave me. Thank You. I asked
You to watch over me and my loved ones and You did. Thank You. Lord, last night
when I prayed, I asked that You would place Your hedge of protection around me
and my loved ones and You did. Thank You. I asked You for prosperity, and You
blessed me with my job, I just want to say thank You. Lord, maybe I don't have
that job I wanted just yet, but You still fed me last night. Bless You Lord. I
might have had to catch the bus this morning, but that's okay, I thank You for
giving me bus fare. Lord, my blessings are too many to list right now, but I
want You to know that I am grateful for each and every blessing that I have
received. Not because I am worthy of Your favor, but because You love me. I
thank You for just loving me. Bless Your name Lord. Praise the name of the Lord.
I lift up Holy Hands and bow down my head in reverence to You alone. Thank You
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Sc<strong>ripture:</strong><br />
the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride
and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house
of the LORD, saying, "Give thanks to the LORD Almighty, for the LORD is good;
his love endures forever." For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they
were before,' says the LORD. <strong>Jeremiah 33:11 (New International
Version)</strong><br />
<br />
Every now and then as I reflect upon the things that are or
aren’t happening in my life, I begin to feel sorry for myself. Sometimes, I
think I should have more, do more or I just want more. I sometimes feel that I
am failing in my quest to finding my true destiny. But then, something will
happen that will remind to put things back into perspective.<br />
<br />
So often
these mini revelations that I have, aren’t really that significant at all. It
might be seeing a homeless woman on the street and I am reminded that I have a
home. It could be hearing how someone loss their child, and then I am reminded
that I have two beautiful sons. Or it could simply be seeing someone, all alone,
with no one to call friend.<br />
<br />
Just this past week, I was depressed because
I didn’t feel that I was progressing with my writing. I write everyday but
didn’t feel that I had been making any progress as a writer. Then, God started
doing what He does best. He reminded me that my writing does matter.<br />
<br />
The
first reminder came in the form of a message from a dear sister in Christ who
told me just how much these messages have meant to her. Then today, I received
another message from another friend who said she prints them out to share with
her mother each morning. As I started reflecting, these were but two of the many
messages that I receive each day from people who find inspiration in the things
that I write.<br />
<br />
I say all this to say, that even though my dream of
publishing my book hasn’t come to fruition, my dream of touching the lives of
others through the written word has. I thank God for this forum and this
opportunity to share His word and to touch the lives of others.<br />
<br />
I give
thanks to God for allowing me to find a lot. Each and every one of
you!<br />
<br />
Be Blessed<br />
<br />
<strong>Prayer:</strong><br />
Lord, sometimes I forget that my
purpose isn’t to please myself, it is to please You. I sometimes forget that the
gift that You have given me isn’t to please me, it is to be shared with others
so they too can see You working in their lives. Father God, forgive me for my
selfish nature. Forgive me for not appreciating what I do have. I have love,
grace and mercy. I have the gift of life through my Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. I have fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ who bless me
always with their kind words, prayers and thoughts. Lord, I ask that as we begin
another week, that each and every one of us will remember, to give thanks for
even the smallest of things. That each and every one of us will remember to
bless someone else, because you have already blessed each of us. Lord, we give
thanks to You on high. We praise and uplift Your Holy Name. Great is Thy
faithfulness. Thank You Father. Thank You Jesus. It is in Your name that we
submit this prayer. Amen.<br />

<strong>Footnote: I wrote this message sometime ago and
came across it this evening as I was preparing to do an evening devotional. My
praise report is this; God does answer prayers. My debut novel, “Serving
Justice” was released in April of 2009 through “Peace in the Storm Publishing
and won a literary award in the category of romance. This goes out to all of the dreamers and the people on the voyage to
fulfilling those dreams. Although I am nowhere near where I want to be
in my literary career, I am very far from the place I started. I
understand how hard it is to pursue you passion and purpose when the
world is tell</span>ing you "No," in so many ways every chance it gets. Don't give up.</div>
<div class="text_exposed_show" style="text-align: center;">
<br />
It is a beautiful thing to HONOR how far you've come in the first place
which is why I am posting photos of the journey because someone needs
to see and understand that impossible circumstances can make possible
miracles. Amen?<br /> <br /> If you can give thanks for the little things
you will always find that you have enough. And, if you're blessed enough
to surpass that, you'll always be grateful. But you can't give up.<br /> <br />
My Dreamers, don't give up. Even when you're tired. Don't give up. The
world is full of abundance. There is a place for you at the table.
Never, ever give up.<br /> <br /> _________________</div>
