The Prodigal Son by Cheryl Lacey Donovan

The Prodigal Son

Luke 15:20 So he got up and went to his father. "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

Perhaps you are familiar with the story of the Prodigal Son. What a powerful story of unconditional love between a parent and a child. God calls each of us as parents to love
our children in the same way- even when our two year old wets the bed, or our teenager breaks curfew, or even when our adult child is a "live in." We should never be too angry or disappointed to embrace them with the same kind of love our Heavenly Father gives to us in our failure.

The most effective way we can embrace our children is through prayer. Give them back to God. Thank Him for allowing you to be a steward over their lives and ask Him to teach you how to love them as they are and watch God give you the ability to open your arms to them and love them as He loves you.
