In 2008, Americans elected a man of color into the highest ranking position of our country! Never before have I been so convinced that all things are possible and dreams do come true when you pursue them with passion and perseverance. Each January we wish on another a Happy New Year. However, there is nothing happy about our world situation. Peace is an illusion. Crime is at an all time high and so is the cost of living. If we look only at our current situation, there would be no possibility for a Happy New Year. The good news is God wants to create a sense of newness in each of our lives. God desires for us to be filled with a renewed sense of purpose and destiny. The new year offers us a chance to wipe the slate clean and start again. It's a time to look ahead with a sense of anticipation and excitement towards the new things God wants to do in our lives. In this new year seek to serve Christ and His kingdom in a greater way. Know the promises of God, remember God's faithfulness in the past, and realize God's power and willingness to work in your life.
